  After the pandemic left skiers out in the cold for the past two seasons, demand to return to the slopes is huge. For property buyers, mountain living is ideal for social distancing, so it’s no wonder that fresh air, open spaces and the healthy good life are more popular than ever.   Cathy Hawker writes of the property market over the past year, revealing that across all resorts there have been price rises, transaction increases and a serious shortage of stock.

  Maizie Delaney Baird, the director of Lindforth mountain property says that even amongst British buyers, now outside the EU, demand is high. “We still see a big demand from Brits post-Brexit,” she says. “However, there are fewer properties available for them as they can only purchase chalets with ‘second-home’ permission and these sell rapidly.
