THE NEW MADLOCHBAHN IN ZÜRS & THE NEW ZUGERBERGBAHN
What skiers from Zürs to Lech always remember from their skiing experience is the ice-cold and long lift ride on the Madlochbahn and Zugerbergbahn. The old, cold, and long 2-seater chairlift connecting Zürs with Zug and thus also Lech has now been replaced!
As the connecting lift between Zürs and Lech, the new Madloch lift, a 6-seater chairlift with weather protection bonnets and seat heating, makes a significant contribution to the flawless skiing pleasure in the Arlberg ski area. The two new ski lift stations are free-standing and covered by a modern, lightweight steel and glass construction. The bottom station was moved to the other side of the lake so that you can get on the ski lift without having to push. Since the new chairlift can also transport 2180 people per hour and only takes about 5 minutes to reach the mountain station, the long queue waiting in the cold to get into the lift is also over.
What makes the skiing experience from St. Anton, St. Christoph, Zürs to Lech via Zug even easier is new Zugerbergbahn. The new Zugerberg cable car is a 10-cabin circulating cable car with panoramic windows, which halves the previous journey time with the old double chairlift. Both the top station and the bottom station are built completely underground. Another advantage is the new underground access to the Balmalp ski hut. Guests without skis can use it to get directly to events and festivities at the hut, which will also be able to take place in the evenings in future thanks to the night travel permit. These gondolas carry up to 2400 people per hour and the ride up the mountain takes only 4.5 minutes.
